RICHLAND TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MEMBERS PRESENT: Joel F. Wardin, Supervisor Kevin J. Kreger, Clerk Linda J. Luplow, Treasurer Christine Beckrow, Trustee Brian R. Frederick, Trustee CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the Richland Township Board of Trustees was called to order by Supervisor Wardin at 7:30 P.M. with the Pledge to the Flag. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Motion by Brian R. Frederick, second by Kevin J. Kreger, to approve and file Minutes of July 8, 2008 as written. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. BILLS: Motion by Linda J. Luplow, second by Brian R. Frederick, to pay the bills as listed, total of $128,440.81. Roll call vote Beckrow, Yes; Frederick, Yes; Kreger, Yes; Luplow, Yes; Wardin, Yes. (5) yeas, (0) nays. Motion carried. REPORTS: Motion by Kevin J. Kreger, second by Linda J. Luplow, to receive and file the following written reports: Financial/Transaction, Police, Fire, Board of Review, Park, Election Commission and Township Manager’s. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS - SET SPECIAL MEETING/HEARING – FIRE/POLICE MILLAGE: Motion by Kevin J. Kreger, second by Linda J. Luplow, to set the Public Hearing with special meeting following at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 to establish millage rates for police and fire protection on the 2008 winter tax roll for operation during the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. ORDINANCE 2008-4, TAX EXEMPTION: Motion by Brian R. Frederick, second by Linda J. Luplow, by Ordinance 2008-4, to grant the payment in lieu of taxes exemption to DeShano Development Corporation for eight percent (8%) for ten (10) years as provided by the State Housing Development Authority Act 346 of 1966, effective 30 days after publication in The Township Times, authorizing Supervisor Wardin and Clerk Kreger to sign on behalf of Richland Township. Roll call vote Beckrow, Yes; Frederick, Yes; Kreger, Yes; Luplow, Yes; Wardin, Yes. (5) yeas, (0) nays. Motion carried. CORRESPONDENCE: Written correspondence was received and filed.
