RICHLAND TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION JULY 24, 2007 MEMBERS PRESENT: Brian Bauer, Chrmn. Gary Turner, Vice Chrmn. Brian Frederick David H. Schafer, Acting Secty. Grant Rames MEMBERS ABSENT: Frederick Clark Bernard Neuenfeldt OTHERS PRESENT: Renee Herhold, Twp. Mgr. Joel Wardin, Supervisor Jack Burd, Zoning Admin. Kevin Kreger, Clerk Ronald Wenzel CALL TO ORDER: The meeting of the Richland Township Planning Commission was called to order at 7:00 P.M Vice Chairman Turner with the Pledge to the Flag. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Motion by Brian Frederick, second by David H. Schafer, the Minutes of June 26, 2007 to be approved and filed as written. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. INSPECTION REPORT: Motion by Brian Frederick, second by Grant Rames, to receive and file the Inspection Report for the month of July 2007. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. ZONING ADMINISTRATORS REPORT: Copies of the updated Future Land Use Map to be ready for the next meeting. Complaint was taken on the Voorheis property located at 14370 Gratiot and 600 N. Fordney. Mr. Burd, Zoning Administrator, visited the property in question, to verify with Mr. Voorheis, that he was not in fact extending his air strip. Mr. Burd, presented the Board members with a hand drawn map of the adjoining parcels, and verified that Mr. Voorheis is not extending the air strip, only filling in the adjoining parcel to make it more farmable. (Copy of Map attached.)PUBLIC COMMENT: Ron Wenzel voiced his concerns regarding the Township adopting a policy regarding airports within Richland Township and to define the "Grand Father Clause" as pertaining to airports. Mr. Wenzel voiced many of his concerns in regards to airport inspections, plane inspections, and pilot certification. Mr. Wenzel requested that these issues to be included in the minutes for historical value. Chairman Brian Bauer arrived at 7:15 p.m. and took the Chairman position after Public Comment ended. OLD BUSINESS: FINAL REVIEW ALL PROPOSED ZONING CHANGES & AMENDMENTS: Motion by David H. Schafer, second by Brian Frederick, to accept all Proposed Zoning Changes and Amendments as submitted. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: AUGUST HEARING – SET FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22nd, 7:00 P.M.: Motion by David H. Schafer, second by Gary Turner, to set the Public Hearing for all Proposed Zoning Changes and Amendments in sections 03, 26, 27, 30, 32, 33 for August 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Richland Township Administration Building. Letters will be sent to all property owners within 300’ of the rezoning parcels to be affected. Unanimous vote. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. ADJOURNMENT: Motion by David H.
